Ms. narrative of the 1788 capture of Jane Gillespie Brown and other members of her immediate family by Cherokee and Creek Indians on the Tennessee River near the Cherokee town of "Nickajack". Also descriptions of events leading up to the family's captivity, ransom and release, and activities thereafter until 1850.
